Emil and I were chatting last month about our AI Studios we are building for IndyBizPass.com and KG's Kids. Emil asked me a question that I couldn't answer.
We were stuck on a pricing problem for a new AI training program. Too high, and we'd lose our audience. Too low, and we'd devalue the work. I'd been circling this problem for weeks, pulling from everything I knew about education, pricing strategy, and market positioning.
Nothing clicked.
Then he said: "What if we're thinking about this wrong? What if this isn't a pricing problem at all?"
I stared at him. "What else would it be?"
"I don't know," he said. "But maybe someone in a completely different industry already solved this."
That's when I realized: the answer I needed existed somewhere. I just couldn't see the connection.
The Invisible Web
Here's the thing about human expertise: it's powerful, but it's also narrow.
We see patterns within our domain. We recognize solutions that fit our mental models. We make connections between ideas we've already been exposed to.

That was my problem. I'd been trying to justify our pricing based on hours and content. But our real value wasn't in the hours — it was in the confidence, capability, and transformation people walked away with.
AI didn't solve my pricing problem. It connected me to a solution I couldn't have found on my own.
Beyond Discipline Boundaries
